Among the many dental procedures Dr. Garcia provides, Implant Crowns is one of them. Implant Crowns are tooth restorations placed over a previously placed implant to restore an area where a tooth is missing. In order for an implant crown to be placed an implant has to be placed first. Once the implant is placed 3 months of healing time must occur to allow the bone and implant to integrate after which an implant crown can be made to attach to the implant.

Implant crown material can be solid gold, zirconia, ceramic, or porcelain fused to the previously mentioned materials. Once an impression for the crown is made 2 weeks later the implant crown will be cemented or screwed onto an implant abutment which is screwed into the implant. Immediate Dentures are dentures upper or lower that are made for the patient before any teeth are extracted.

The process requires an initial dental exam and necessary x-rays to determine the condition of the teeth and bone. At that visit teeth to be extracted will be determined as well as any bone recontouring or bone grafting needed. The next visit upper and lower dental impressions are taken a bite registration done as well as teeth color and shape are selected. All this information is sent to the dental lab who fabricates the immediate denture according to the lab prescription written by the restoring dentist.

The next visit teeth are extracted, bone recontoured, bone grafts as needed are done, and sutures are placed. The Immediate Denture is placed with a soft reline material inside the denture to act as a cushion, adjustments made and follow up visits are initially weekly then monthly for 4 to 5 months as healing occurs, then the Immediate Dentures are hard relined with acrylic on the inside of the denture to make them fit like new dentures.
