Loose Dentures? Loose Dentures may occur for many reasons.

  1. Poor fit
  2. Worn Dentures
  3. Not enough bone to support the Dentures
  4. Improper Seal

Loose Dentures can be tightened with a denture reline and adjustment or a new Denture may be necessary. If not enough bone present 2 to 4 Implants can be placed to secure a new snap on Denture for the most secure fit for all Dentures.

Denture relines allow the dentist to take out old Denture material on the inside of the Denture and add new Denture material to reestablish a proper fit and seal. It’s like getting a new Denture on the inside. New Dentures allow us to provide the proper fit, size of the teeth and tooth shade with correct positioning for the most cosmetic pleasing results.

Implant supported Dentures click into the Implant creating a very retentive , secure Denture allowing our patients to eat apples again

Dr. Roderick A. Garcia is an Albuquerque New Mexico Cosmetic and Family Dentist with over 34 years of creating beautiful smiles for his patients. His practice combines art, science, detail and service as the foundation for their outstanding dentistry.

Implant all on 4 Restorations allow for a patient to achieve a beautiful functional smile that is affordable and long lasting. 4 Implants are strategically placed on the upper or lower jaws and an immediate Hybrid Bridge is placed over implants to restore the missing teeth while the Implants heal to bone. The Interim Bridge will stay in place for 3 months at which time a permanent Hybrid Bridge is made, attached to the Implants and adjusted to the patient’s new bite. The new Hybrid Bridges are fixed to Implants however the Dentist can remove to repair if ever necessary. This is only one of the many Implant Restoration options available.

What Happens at a Child’s First Dental Visit

Roderick Garcia, DMD, has cared for patients at his private dental practice in Albuquerque, New Mexico, since 1985. In that time, Roderick Garcia, DMD, has focused on providing no-pain or minimal-discomfort cosmetic, preventive, and treatment services for both adults and children.

Experts recommend that all children visit the dentist before their first birthday or within six months of the first tooth’s appearance. The initial appointment serves to familiarize the child with the dentist and the experience, allow the dentist to examine the child’s mouth for any potential problems, and educate the parent on proper dental care.

At this first visit, the child may sit in a parent’s lap while the dentist looks at the child’s gums, jaw, and any erupted teeth. The results of this examination help the dentist to evaluate the need for fluoride and may determine whether the child will need a cleaning at that first appointment.

The dentist will also ensure that the parent knows how to clean the child’s teeth at home. This discussion of home care may also involve a discussion of nutrition and habits such as sucking on a thumb or pacifier, both of which may affect a child’s bite. The visit is likely to end with the scheduling of another appointment, in part so that the family can establish the habit of visiting the dentist every six months.
